WTC Republication Guidelines
Details of our Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivatives licensing
All original content on the Woodbridge Town Chronicle (WTC) is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License.
We welcome nonprofit, hyperlocal, and educational news organizations to republish our stories free of charge, provided you follow these guidelines:
1. Attribution
- Stories must include the original byline, e.g., “by Sheila McCreven, Woodbridge Town Chronicle.”
- Include this note at the top or bottom of the story:
“This story was originally published by the Woodbridge Town Chronicle (woodbridge.town).” - The link must go to the original WTC post.
2. Edits
- You may make minor style changes (e.g., “Conn.” vs. “CT”) and update date references for clarity.
- No substantive changes, rewrites, or derivative works.
3. Story Art
- You may only republish original WTC photos/graphics or those clearly in the public domain.
- Images must be credited and used only with the story in which they first appeared.
4. Links
- Keep all original links intact.
- Do not add or remove links.
5. Access
- Republishing must remain free to the public.
- Stories may not be placed behind a paywall, sold, or sublicensed.
6. Social Media
- When sharing republished content, please tag @WoodbridgeTownChronicle.
7. Other Terms
- Permission does not extend to third-party or partner content appearing on WTC.
- We reserve the right to revoke permission at any time.
