Woodbridge Solar Showcase Happening September 20th
Save the date and plan to participate in this community event
On Saturday, September 20, 2025, Woodbridge will join communities across Connecticut in celebrating the unstoppable rise of clean, renewable energy. We’ll gather at the Woodbridge Town Library from 1:00–4:30 PM for the Woodbridge Solar Showcase: Celebrating Our Town’s Clean Energy Progress.
The afternoon will feature a short, brand-new, solar documentary, a community discussion about the future of solar in Woodbridge, and presentations on opportunities for homeowners. Hands-on art-making activities (see instructions, below) will begin at 3:00 PM, open to all ages — drop in anytime. The day concludes with a Poetry in Nature Picnic, led by Woodbridge Poet Laureate Charlotte Allen.
This local showcase is part of Sun Day, a global day of action on September 21st that uplifts the power of solar and wind energy to help power our world without pollution. Here in Connecticut, the statewide SUN DAY Festival will take place the next day at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain. Learn more by visiting: ActionNetwork.org
Sun Day is inspired by the vision of Third Act, a national environmental grassroots organization that has encouraged every community in the U.S. to embrace this moment of progress. Think of it as today’s version of Earth Day in 1970, when 10% of Americans came together to launch what became a lasting environmental movement.
I invite you to mark your calendars now and plan to join us on September 20th. Full details and reminders will follow as the date approaches — but for now, please save the date, spread the word, and be part of this exciting community event.
