Vote411 guide launches soon; Meet the Candidates Night set for October 16
Preparing for local elections, League of Women Voters–Amity offers in-person event and online voter resource
The public is invited to learn more about local candidates as the League of Women Voters of Amity presents a Meet the Candidates Night on Thursday, October 16, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Amity High School cafeteria, 25 Newton Road, Woodbridge.
The event will be co-hosted by students in the Critical Issues classes at Amity High School. Their participation underscores the value of modeling civic engagement and democracy for young people.
All candidates on the November ballot in Bethany, Orange, and Woodbridge have been invited. The first half of the program will feature introductory remarks from First Selectman candidates. The second half will be devoted to informal conversations with voters at candidate tables. Students will host welcome tables and circulate during the event.

Vote411 voter guide coming soon
The League of Women Voters’ online voter guide, Vote411, will soon be available for local races. According to LWV–Amity steering committee member Pua Ford, invitations to candidates to participate in the guide will be sent the week of October 6 through the national Vote411 system.
The invitation email will come directly from the national LWV organization, so candidates should be sure to check their inbox and spam folders. To be included, candidates must use the link provided in that email to upload their biographical statement and responses to the Vote411 questionnaire.
Voters can check www.vote411.org after October 6 to learn more about the candidates — with information all in one place, directly provided by the candidates themselves.
