This Week in Woodbridge

Coming next week: Letters to the Editor

Starting next week, the Woodbridge Town Chronicle will feature a Letters to the Editor section. Like the hometown print newspapers many of us remember, this space will give neighbors the chance to share their views in their own words.

Guidelines:

  • Keep letters between 150–250 words (hard cap 300).
  • Include your full name and address, a phone number or email for verification purposes only (contact information will not be published).
  • Be civil: no personal attacks, slurs, or harassment.
  • Stick to one main idea per letter. If making factual claims, please cite sources, which will appear as links where appropriate.
  • Candidates or campaign volunteers should include a disclosure at the end.

Letters may be edited for clarity and length only. Publication is not guaranteed, and all submissions must follow these rules. To be included in the This Week in Woodbridge Monday email newsletter, submissions must be received for consideration by 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

This new section is meant to broaden community conversation and foster engagement between neighbors in our town. To submit, please send your text by email to the editor.

In the meantime, here are this week’s highlights from the Woodbridge Town Chronicle:

Tri-Board Meeting Weighs Beecher Options, Next Steps Uncertain
The Boards of Selectmen, Finance, and the Woodbridge Board of Education met jointly on September 18 to review renovation and construction options for Beecher Road School, with projected costs running into the $100+ million range. The proposals come just 10 years after a major renovation promised a 20-year lifespan on building improvements, and questions remain about state reimbursement, ADA compliance, charter rules for voter approval, and how existing debt factors in.
