This Week in Woodbridge

This week has been one for the history books here in Woodbridge. As of 2 p.m. Monday, the official recanvass of the November 4 municipal election remains underway in the Center Building gym. The process began at 9:30 a.m. and is being conducted under state law due to the razor-thin margin of just eight votes separating the two candidates for First Selectman.

We’ll post an update once certified results are released by the Registrars of Voters. In the meantime, here’s what’s new this week in The Woodbridge Town Chronicle.

High Turnout and Tight Finish as Cardozo Appears to Be Reelected
Woodbridge voters turned out in record numbers for the November 4 municipal election, casting more than 3,800 ballots (61 percent turnout) — the town’s highest in years. Preliminary results show Mica Cardozo leading Robert Rosasco by just eight votes (1,927 to 1,919), triggering a state-mandated recanvass that was still underway as of Monday afternoon. The contest marks one of the closest in town history, even as Connecticut saw a broader “blue wave” sweep many other communities.
