Meet the Candidates Night scheduled for October 16
The League of Women Voters of Amity will host a Meet the Candidates Night at Amity High School on October 16 at 7:00 p.m. All local candidates have been invited, and the event is designed as an introduction rather than a debate. Voters will have a chance to hear from First Selectman candidates and speak with each team at their assigned tables.

Selectmen’s public hearing on POCD draws criticism
At a September 3 hearing, residents voiced concerns that the draft Plan of Conservation and Development places too much emphasis on housing while minimizing conservation priorities. The Board of Selectmen continued the hearing to September 10 and plan to send recommendations to TPZ.
