The Latest Letters to the Editor

Editor’s Note: The Letters to the Editor section in the Woodbridge Town Chronicle is a place where community voices can be shared and heard. In the print newspapers of years past, letters to the editor were often the liveliest section, where readers spoke directly to one another, the broader community, and its leaders. To submit a letter for consideration please refer to the submission guidelines.

‘Common Ground’ Selectmen-Elect Seek Applicants Willing to Serve on Town Boards and Commissions

To the editor,

As members of the Common Ground for Woodbridge slate we proposed a new, more open path to appointments to our town’s various Boards and Commissions. After an incredibly close race where our First Selectman candidate Rob Rosasco fell shy by only eight votes, we want to assure readers that the two of us welcome interest from residents of all political affiliations. We remain committed to ensuring diversity of thought and prioritizing expertise over party loyalty on Woodbridge’s boards and commissions.

We encourage you to take a look at the many Boards and Commissions listed on the town’s website: Boards & Commissions | Woodbridge, CT. Should you be interested in one or more positions, please email Andrea (aurbano.woodbridge@gmail.com) a brief explanation of your interest and a summary bio reflecting your qualifications to serve, no later than December 15, 2025. We in turn will share your email with every Selectman-elect in time to ensure their consideration prior to voting on appointments. Should you have a question about the appointment process or a particular Board or Commission, please send your query to the same email address.

Thank you in advance for your interest in serving our community.

— Andrea Urbano – current Selectman (and re-elected for the 2026-27 term)

— Amey Marrella – Selectman-elect (elected for the 2026-27 term)

Editor’s Note: Letters reflect the perspectives of their authors. They are published to foster dialogue about issues of local concern, including questions of governance, transparency, and accountability, as well as topics such as highlighting upcoming or past events from community groups. To submit a letter for consideration please refer to the submission guidelines.
